Hatchways — Automate Technical Coding Interviews

Hatchways is a project-based technical assessment platform for engineering recruitment teams

Hatchways is a technical assessment platform that automates the evaluation of software developers through project-based challenges. This tool is designed for hiring managers and recruiters who need to replace traditional whiteboard interviews with practical, real-world coding tasks. By using Git-based workflows, the platform allows candidates to work in their local environments, providing a more accurate reflection of their day-to-day coding skills. The Hatchways platform simplifies the entire recruitment cycle by providing a library of pre-built assessment templates that focus on front-end, back-end, and full-stack development. Business owners can track candidate progress through a centralized dashboard that highlights key performance metrics and code quality. Integration with existing version control systems ensures that the technical team can review submissions using the tools they already use daily. A major advantage of using Hatchways is the reduction in bias and the improvement in hiring signal accuracy. Every assessment is automatically graded against specific rubrics, ensuring that all applicants are judged on high-quality technical output rather than theoretical knowledge. You can find more details about various recruitment technologies and peer reviews on surfai.app to help scale your engineering department in 2026. Hatchways offers a freemium model with a free tier for small teams, while larger organizations can opt for paid plans that include advanced analytics and higher volume screening capabilities.
